Cultural competency—set of congruent behaviors, practices, attitudes and policies that come together in a system or agency or among professionals, enabling effective work to be done in cross-cultural situations

Prejudice—prejudgment, or forming an opinion before becoming aware of the relevant facts of a case

Diversity—the condition of having or being composed of differing elements: variety; especially the inclusion of different types of people; the quality or state of having many different forms, types, ideas, etc.; the state of having people who are different races or who have different cultures in a group or organization

Bias— a particular tendency, trend, inclination, feeling, or opinion, especially one that is preconceived or unreasoned

Stereotype—a short cut, an inaccurate assumption that everyone from within a group shares the same traits and that often cause us to see in people only what we expect to see.
